Manage Billers

The bill payment payees can be added through Register Payee process. The user can search the list of standard payees added by the bank. He can provide the consumer code and nick name during registration.

Finacle e-Banking application has the capability of displaying the logo of the billers at the time of registration of the biller as well as at the time of payment of bills. This is to help the users to easily identify the billers. Logos will be maintained in the external storage system and e-Banking application will fetch the logos from the external system. To achieve this functionality there are some technical setups to be done.

Biller Logo will be maintained in an external storage system. In the base product logo will be fetched from the CMS. However, if the bank is not using a CMS then it can be fetched from any other different source. For the same a new handler/transformer will have to be written in the HIF layer according to the host layer. This part will be taken care by the customization.
In the product the XML file/properties file will be updated with the corresponding logo path in CMS – Alfresco after creating each Standard payee. The mapping of the biller logo/biller name will be provided in a XML/properties file and will be maintained in e-Banking.
In the screen there will be a placeholder on the top right hand side of the page to display the logo. A provision will be made which will read the biller id and return the logo from the external storage system based on the mapping given in the XML/properties file.
In case there is no mapping of biller logo/biller name in the XML/properties file, no biller logo will be shown on the screen to the customer.

A search option is provided to view the registrations made. He can de-register the billers in case the customer decides to withdraw or change the biller. The payee registration can be for a Payment Payee or a Presentment Payee.

Customers who want to register for the utility bill payment can go to this link. Here, they can use the Register Payee option. All the standard billers of the bank are displayed here. Also, there are links for registering Payment Payees and Presentment Payees. The relevant links provide various selection criteria comprising City, State, and Business Category. System retrieves the records and displays all the payees. Customers can be registered with the payee for bill payment by giving their code. As part of registration, they have an option to give an Auto Pay Instruction with or without an amount limit. The registration goes for RM Approval.

User can provide the payment notification details while adding a payee/ counterparty. Once added, user can also modify, copy, delete the notification details provided. The notification details will enable the e-Banking application to send payment alerts to the payees to the mentioned channel.
