Introduction |
Every currency has its own parameter maintenance. Currency decimal maintenance is one of the parameters for currencies. This is because different currencies could have different decimals. For example, for Indian Rupees (INR), it is 2 decimal points as 100 paise make one rupee (INR). Similarly for Bahrain Dinar, the currency decimal is 3. e-Banking uses the currency decimal information for validating amount entries made by user. For Example: A user is denied a funds transfer of 10.333 INR as INR currency decimal is 2. Here, the administrator can maintain the transaction amount in each currency above which the Relationship Manager’s approval is required. If a customer tries to do a funds transfer above this specified amount in that particular currency, then the RM must approve the transfer. Also for each currency the currency delays and working days are maintained. The application validates these for all multi currency transfers. The e-Banking administrator can do the following:
Note: Currency codes must be defined as common codes for code type CRN prior to maintaining the currency decimal. The common codes for CRN must be the ISO standard codes for currencies. For example, USD for US Dollar. The currency code used in currency decimal maintenance must match the currency code defined through COCD maintenance. The currency description shown above is used only for the list of currency decimal display. The description defined in COCD is used for display in the rest of the application. |
